When it comes to fusion cuisine, CLAY Dubai sets itself apart with its innovative take on Nikkei flavours – a blend of Japanese and Peruvian influences that creates something truly special. Our meal began with an array of maki sushi rolls, each carefully crafted and presented in a unique mini Ain Dubai structure.
This playful nod to the neighbouring attraction added a layer of creativity to the dining experience, making it more than just a meal but a visual delight as well. The sushi rolls themselves were fresh, flavourful, and beautifully balanced, showcasing the restaurant’s attention to detail and commitment to quality ingredients.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the salmon tiradito. This dish perfectly balanced fresh salmon with a tangy, sweet passionfruit sauce that brought the flavours to life. It was the kind of dish that stands out and keeps you thinking about it long after the meal is over.
Bold flavours and artistic presentations
The wagyu sandos followed, and they lived up to their reputation. The tender, juicy wagyu beef, nestled between perfectly toasted bread, offered a rich, flavourful bite that showcased the kitchen’s attention to detail. The wagyu tenderloin, expertly grilled and seasoned, was a fitting main course, demonstrating CLAY’s mastery over both raw and cooked dishes.
While the restaurant was quieter during our visit, likely due to the summer season, CLAY is typically known for its vibrant atmosphere. On previous visits, the space buzzed with energy, enhanced by live DJ sessions and a lively crowd. The incredible service, consistent across all visits, stood out again—attentive yet unobtrusive, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience was seamless.
CLAY’s location on Bluewaters Island offers more than just culinary delights; the restaurant’s terraces provide stunning views of Ain Dubai and the Marina skyline.
