Sindalah, the first physical manifestation of NEOM, marks a pivotal chapter in Saudi Arabia’s tourism ambitions. First announced by HRH Mohammed bin Salman in December 2022, NEOM Sindalah showcases the project’s vision for luxury, sustainability, and innovation on a grand scale. And now, the first guests have been welcomed to this giga-project, marking the start of a new era in luxury travel.
Spanning 840,000 square metres, this island destination off the northwest coast of Saudi Arabia introduces a distinct blend of natural beauty, high-end hospitality, and cutting-edge technology, designed to attract global travellers and redefine the concept of luxury travel in the Middle East.
Strategically positioned just five kilometres from NEOM’s mainland, Sindalah has been crafted to connect European, Saudi, and GCC tourists seamlessly to the Red Sea. With an extensive two-year effort led by over 30,000 workers and the expertise of Luca Dini Design & Architecture, the island’s transformation from concept to reality demonstrates NEOM’s dedication to Vision 2030’s objectives. Sindalah is primed to become a landmark destination for yachting, tourism, and entertainment, cementing Saudi Arabia’s place on the global tourism map.

At the heart of Sindalah is its world-class marina, designed to serve as NEOM’s luxury gateway to the Red Sea. The 86-berth marina caters to yachts up to 75 metres long, with offshore mooring for superyachts up to 180 metres. This unique positioning provides easy access for Mediterranean yacht owners, placing Sindalah on the global yachting calendar as a new wintering option close to Europe. IGY Marinas will manage the site, bringing a standard of service expected by the global yachting elite.
Complementing the marina’s grandeur is the Sindalah Yacht Club, a first in the region designed by renowned Italian designer Stefano Ricci. Spanning 1,800 square metres, this sophisticated venue combines sweeping Red Sea views with fine Italian dining by Michelin-starred chef Enrico Bartolini.
The Yacht Club’s interiors highlight Ricci’s flair for luxury, with Carrara marble and accents of “Sindalah Blue,” a custom hue inspired by the island’s pristine waters. The club, available to members and visitors alike, is anticipated to become a social hub for the international yachting community, embodying NEOM’s ethos of exclusive elegance and premium experiences.
Premier dining, luxury stays, and curated experiences

Sindalah’s dedication to world-class hospitality is evident across its 38 dining establishments, which include Michelin-starred restaurants and sophisticated rooftop lounges. These culinary destinations, led by celebrated chefs, reflect NEOM’s commitment to creating a gastronomic haven in the Red Sea. Adding to the island’s allure, Sindalah will feature luxury accommodations by high-profile brands, including Marriott and Four Seasons, each set to bring distinct hospitality experiences to the island.
Marriott is introducing three properties: an Autograph Collection Hotel, two Luxury Collection properties, and serviced apartments, providing an array of lodging choices that will collectively offer 440 rooms, 88 villas, and 218 luxury serviced apartments. These hotels represent the first Marriott Luxury Collection locations in Saudi Arabia, offering guests a combination of Arabian culture and NEOM-inspired innovation. Each property will bring a unique aesthetic inspired by the Red Sea landscape and NEOM’s futuristic vision, making Sindalah an unmatched destination for discerning travellers.
The Village, Promenade, and social hotspots

The Village and Promenade stand as Sindalah’s vibrant social centres, home to upscale retail outlets, community cafés, and lively entertainment venues. Daytime eateries give way to late-night spots as the island shifts from day to night, and the Beach Club, operated by Saudi Arabia’s MDLBEAST, offers a year-round space for music and social gatherings. This club, complete with poolside lounges and private dining spaces, is set to become a cornerstone of NEOM Sindalah’s entertainment scene.
Sindalah’s unique geography and climate make it a prime destination for outdoor pursuits, especially water sports. The Sindalah Sports Club offers amenities for kayaking, water skiing, kite surfing, and scuba diving. These activities take place in a marine environment rich with biodiversity, boasting over 2,000 species, including 600 unique to the Red Sea. This commitment to conservation aligns with NEOM’s goal to merge sustainability with tourism, ensuring Sindalah’s natural wonders are preserved for future generations.
The Golf Club and year-round attractions

For golf enthusiasts, Sindalah’s 6,474-yard (5,920-metre), par-70 golf course is designed for both beginners and seasoned players. The course, with 18 unique tee points, offers two distinct nine-hole experiences and a backdrop of panoramic views, setting the stage for an elevated golfing experience rarely found in island resorts.
NEOM Sindalah is also establishing itself as an all-year destination for events and activities. Its amphitheatre, set against a stunning coastal backdrop, will host cultural events, concerts, and sporting competitions, while the surrounding Promenade and Village pulse with activity, ensuring that every season brings fresh experiences. This lively social calendar is set to include everything from adrenaline-driven sports to immersive cultural celebrations, catering to a global audience eager for novel experiences.
An ambitious step forward for NEOM
Sindalah’s unveiling signals a major milestone in Saudi Arabia’s tourism journey under Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and establish the Kingdom as a global destination.
