Future Found Sanctuary has expanded its offering with the introduction of two exclusive luxury Forest Pods in Cape Town, the city’s first and only five-star regenerative travel destination. Nestled within the lush mountainside of Hout Bay, these thoughtfully designed accommodations bring a new dimension to luxury travel by blending seamlessly with their natural surroundings.
These luxury Forest Pods in Cape Town represent a significant evolution in Future Found Sanctuary’s commitment to regenerative luxury, offering guests an immersive natural experience without compromising on comfort or style. Positioned between the property’s two main villas, Villa Verte and Maison Noir, each pod offers a distinct perspective and connection to the landscape.
Two unique luxury Forest Pods in Cape Town

Both the Sky and Earth Pods provide contrasting yet equally captivating experiences of the property’s spectacular setting. Sky Pod reaches outward toward the rolling valleys of Constantia Nek, creating a sensation of floating above the landscape. In contrast, Earth Pod sits lower within a quiet, forested enclave, offering a more grounded, intimate relationship with the surrounding trees and the gentle sounds of a nearby stream.
This considered placement reflects Future Found Sanctuary’s thoughtful approach to sustainable design, where architecture enhances rather than disrupts the natural environment. The pods’ curved forms echo the contours of the land, while offset brickwork mirrors the shifting daylight and shadows through the trees.
Neil Markovitz, CEO of Newmark Hotels & Reserves, explains the vision behind the new additions: “Future Found Sanctuary is so much more than stunning accommodations, it offers modern travellers those intangible luxuries they’re increasingly seeking: space, time, and privacy. The Forest Pods are a natural extension of that ethos, allowing guests to reconnect with nature while enjoying the utmost in comfort. And, of course, the experience is framed by one of Cape Town’s most beautiful settings, where architecture, design, and local African art truly take centre stage.”
Design that honours the landscape

Created in collaboration with Sean Mahoney of StudioMAS, the Forest Pods embody a low-impact approach to luxury accommodation. The interiors, curated by owners Jim Brett and Ed Gray with Greg McFarlan, feature a contemporary yet soulful aesthetic that prioritises comfort and simplicity.
Each pod includes a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, lounge and dining area, and private outdoor space within an open-plan layout that encourages a slower, more connected pace of living. Expansive sliding doors dissolve the boundary between indoors and out, allowing air, light, and the sounds of nature to shape the experience.
“The Forest Pods create a different kind of luxury,” says co-owner Ed Gray. “There’s a real sense of space, quiet, and ease, while still being fully connected to everything Future Found Sanctuary has to offer.”
A carefully considered mix of South African design elements and natural textures of wood and stone brings warmth and a sense of place to each pod. Rather than competing with the views, the design frames them, inviting nature inside and connecting guests to the landscape in an intimate way.
Exclusive yet connected

Though offering seclusion, the Forest Pods remain connected to Future Found Sanctuary’s comprehensive amenities. Guests enjoy access to heated swimming and cold plunge pools, the Sensorium Spa for personalised wellness treatments, a world-class gym, yoga and meditation spaces, and the Five Elements Garden.
The luxury Forest Pods in Cape Town can be booked individually for couples or solo travellers, or combined to create a two-bedroom private escape for friends or small families seeking a shared experience without compromising on privacy. This flexibility makes them ideal for luxury retreats of various kinds, from romantic getaways to wellness escapes.
Curated dining experiences at Maison Noir and Villa Verte with private chefs, along with relaxed evenings in the private cinema and wine cellar, round out the experience. Whether guests seek solitude or connection, the journey is uniquely their own.
The new Forest Pods at Future Found Sanctuary represent a new chapter in regenerative luxury travel, where design, nature, and wellbeing aren’t separate ideas but part of the same experience, a place where mindful travellers can reconnect with themselves and the natural world in comfort and style.
