The 2024 list features several prominent hotels from the Middle East, reaffirming the region’s reputation for luxury and hospitality.
At No.9, Atlantis The Royal in Dubai is the highest-ranking hotel from the region, making a significant leap from its 2023 position at No.44. This landmark property, located on the iconic Palm Jumeirah, offers an unmatched luxury experience. With nearly 800 rooms, 90 swimming pools, and 17 restaurants, including outlets by world-class chefs such as Heston Blumenthal and Nobu Matsuhisa, Atlantis The Royal epitomises grandeur. The hotel was recognised with the Highest Climber Award, showcasing its rapid rise in popularity and excellence.
New to the list this year is The Lana in Dubai, which makes its debut at No.23. The Dorchester Collection’s first foray into the Middle East, The Lana opened its doors in early 2024, offering a more understated take on luxury compared to Dubai’s usual opulence. With its muted palette of claret, pink, and white hues, this elegant hotel creates a peaceful and refined atmosphere. The Lana also boasts an ultra-modern fitness centre, a rooftop pool, and a Dior Spa, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a chic and tranquil escape in the heart of the city.
Another notable entry is Six Senses Zighy Bay, coming in at No.45. Located on Oman’s rugged northern coastline, this secluded retreat offers a unique experience of rustic luxury. Designed to resemble a traditional Omani village, Zighy Bay provides 82 private pool villas that allow guests to disconnect from the stresses of modern life. The hotel’s dedication to sustainability, combined with its incredible natural setting, makes it a standout property in the region. Guests can enjoy six on-site restaurants, offering a culinary experience that mirrors the resort’s focus on wellness and relaxation.
