Belmond unveils Marguerite, a new riverboat for the waterways of Burgundy

The redesigned vessel accommodates eight guests across four cabins

Belmond Marguerite has been unveiled, offering a newly transformed riverboat now operating on the waterways of Burgundy. The vessel, formerly known as Amaryllis, has been redesigned to accommodate up to eight guests across four cabins, with a focus on natural materials, considered interiors, and a slow-paced journey through one of France’s most celebrated food and wine regions.

The boat takes its name and visual cues from the golden marguerite daisy fields of the Burgundy region. Throughout the interiors, muted palettes, fine textiles, and soft floral accents establish the tone, while each of the four cabins pairs modern design with French antiques and artisan-crafted pieces. Large picture windows keep guests connected to the drifting landscape, and all cabins offer king or twin bed configurations alongside en-suite facilities.

On deck, a heated outdoor plunge pool sits alongside a generous open space designed for alfresco dining and relaxation, giving guests the option to take in the scenery or retreat at their own pace.

A table shaped by the region

Food is central to the experience on board Belmond Marguerite. All table d’hôte meals are fully inclusive, and the menu is shaped around Burgundy’s culinary heritage, beginning each morning with warm pastries and hearty breakfast dishes. The cuisine throughout the voyage draws directly from the rich food culture of the region and the producers that populate its towns and villages.

Into the vineyards and beyond

Belmond Marguerite

Belmond Marguerite’s refreshed itinerary introduces a series of excursions giving guests direct access to a region home to four UNESCO World Heritage sites. Private wine tastings in Gevrey-Chambertin and the Côte de Beaune feature alongside e-bike explorations of the Route des Grands Crus, while visits to wineries in Vougeot and Morey-Saint-Denis and a private lunch at the Château du Clos de Vougeot round out the wine-focused programme.

Away from the vineyards, excursions include market-to-table cooking classes in Beaune and private mustard-making workshops in Dijon with Edmond Fallot, one of the region’s most established producers. Together, the itinerary offers guests a considered route through Burgundy’s food and wine culture, shaped around the people and places that define it.

Part of the Les Bateaux Belmond collection

Belmond Marguerite

Belmond Marguerite joins a fleet of seven boats operating under the Les Bateaux Belmond banner, with routes covering Provence, Champagne, the Camargue, the Canal du Midi, and Bordeaux. Each vessel in the collection accommodates between four and 12 guests, making the fleet well suited to families or small private groups. Standard itineraries run for six nights on a fully inclusive basis, departing on Sundays, while private charters at shorter or longer durations can also be arranged.

For guests looking to explore Burgundy at a slow and considered pace, Belmond Marguerite offers a route through wine country that few other vessels in the region can match.
