RH Paris Gallery opens on the Champs-Élysées

The debut of RH Paris Gallery marks a defining moment for both the American design brand and the French capital’s creative landscape. Opening during Paris Design Week, this monumental space introduces a new concept that merges architecture, design, art, and gastronomy within one of the city’s most prestigious avenues.

Occupying the historic site at 23 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, the former Abercrombie & Fitch flagship has undergone a six-year transformation to become a 40,000-square-foot gallery of immersive design. Its unveiling positions RH Paris Gallery as a cultural and architectural destination in its own right, a place where craftsmanship, proportion, and artistry converge under one gilded roof.

A vision of timeless design

For RH Chairman and CEO Gary Friedman, RH Paris Gallery represents his most ambitious project to date. “In Paris, the measure is eternity and we have built accordingly,” he stated before the opening, a line that captures the brand’s pursuit of lasting beauty.

The gallery’s design draws inspiration from Vitruvian principles of balance, symmetry, and proportion, blending classical philosophy with modern interpretation. The result is a space that feels both monumental and intimate, connecting the ideals of ancient architecture with contemporary living. This design language aligns RH’s philosophy with the works of Vitruvius, Palladio, and Haussmann figures whose influence continues to shape architectural thinking today.

Inside the RH Paris Gallery

The visitor’s approach begins through ornate gold leaf gates, leading down a limestone path to a private garden. Within, a soaring atrium unites seven levels by floating staircases and a central bronze Caryatid from 1870, attributed to Louis-Félix Chabaud.

Throughout the gallery, white onyx mosaics with brass inlay frame an image of da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, symbolising harmony between art and engineering. The Architecture and Design Bibliotheca houses rare works including a 1521 edition of De Architectura, alongside texts by Leonardo da Vinci and other masters of form and proportion.

Each floor presents curated RH collections, from bathware and lighting to contemporary pieces such as the Vao coffee table by French designer Thierry Lemaire. The experience dissolves boundaries between residential and retail, creating an atmosphere closer to a lived-in home than a showroom.

Dining destinations within the gallery

Three distinct hospitality venues elevate the gallery from design showcase to cultural hub. Le Petit RH crowns the upper level as a refined dining space, finished with champagne lacquered walls and a ceiling of over 7,000 handblown glass polyhedrons. The menu centres on caviar, seafood towers, and signature salads, complemented by sweeping views of the Eiffel Tower and the Grand Palais.

On the second floor, Le Jardin RH unfolds beneath a curved glass canopy designed with Foster & Partners, its white onyx interiors offering a serene contrast to the urban rhythm outside. The restaurant serves a selection of American and Mediterranean classics, uniting comfort and elegance.

Meanwhile, The World of RH Bar & Lounge immerses visitors in the brand’s broader lifestyle universe. Digital and physical showcases present the RH One and Two jets and the RH Three yacht, while mixologist Colin Field curates a list of craft cocktails inspired by the brand’s ethos of refinement.

RH’s global expansion continues

The unveiling of RH Paris Gallery signals the next chapter in RH’s international expansion. It follows the success of RH England, The Gallery at Aynho Park, which exceeded expectations with strong demand across Europe. Upcoming projects in London’s Mayfair and Milan are already in development for 2026, further establishing RH’s presence in the world’s leading design capitals.
