Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin opens as the brand’s debut ski resort

The brand's first ski property is now welcoming guests to Courchevel 1850

Rosewood has opened its first ever ski property in the French Alps. Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin is located in the prestigious Jardin Alpin enclave of Courchevel 1850, one of Europe’s most sought-after alpine addresses, and offers direct ski-in, ski-out access to Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest connected ski area. The property is also Rosewood’s second in mainland France.

Designed by French interior designer Tristan Auer, Rosewood Courchevel draws on the region’s golden era of alpine travel. The 1960s saw Courchevel transformed into a glamorous winter destination following the opening of the world’s first mountain airport in 1961, attracting royalty and cultural figures. That heritage is woven into the property’s design, which Auer has described as an eclectic chalet rather than a traditional hotel.

51 rooms with private terraces at Rosewood Courchevel

The property features 51 rooms, suites and penthouses, each with a private seated terrace overlooking the snow-covered peaks. Interiors are rich in alpine craftsmanship, with materials including Vals Quartzite sourced from the Swiss mountains, warm wood and copper accents throughout. The entrance door is hand-carved from locally sourced wood.

Select signature suites feature illuminated bars made from brushed Himalayan salt blocks, angled to mirror the silhouette of the surrounding mountain ranges. Two two-bedroom penthouses accommodate up to four guests each, with headboards formed from hand-sculpted concrete designed to imitate natural rock. The largest accommodation, the four-bedroom Jardin Alpin Apartment, was designed by Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty of Studio KO and includes a private cinema, professional kitchen and expansive terraces overlooking the Sommet de la Saulire.

Italian Alpine dining at SALTO

Rosewood Courchevel - Salto restaurant

At the heart of Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin is SALTO, a restaurant and lounge led by chef Gioia Baek. Born in South Korea, Baek trained at three-Michelin-starred Da Vittorio in Bergamo, Italy, and brings an Italian Alpine sensibility to the menu. Dishes include Tuscan seafood cacciucco and puff-pastry pithiviers filled with Angus beef and Périgueux sauce.

During the day, the terrace welcomes skiers directly from the slopes for elevated Savoyard classics prepared à la minute, including fondue with Champagne, black truffle or porcini. An open-air fire pit serves as the focal point, where prawns, fresh fish and select cuts of meat are grilled over open flames. As the afternoon shifts into après-ski, SALTO Lounge offers cocktails, vintage Champagne and generous desserts alongside a live DJ.

Asaya spa for post-ski recovery

Asaya spa - Rosewood Courchevel

Rosewood’s integrative wellness concept, Asaya spa, makes its Courchevel debut with a focus on personalised post-ski recovery. Exclusive treatments from Maison EviDenS de Beauté and Sodashi anchor the menu, alongside the Deep Alpine Massage, a treatment exclusive to Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin that targets muscle fatigue after a day on the slopes.

The spa also includes a swimming pool lined with a ceramic fresco inspired by glaciers, a sauna, hammam, cold bath, jacuzzi, experience shower and a fitness suite equipped with Technogym and reformer Pilates machines. A children’s cavern with tumbling waterfalls adds a family-friendly element to the wellness offering.

Ski concierge and family experiences

Personal Ski Concierges at Rosewood Courchevel curate tailored itineraries through Les Trois Vallées, from sunrise coffee on La Saulire mountain peak overlooking Mont Blanc to pre-arranged wardrobes of select skiwear. A First Track experience gives guests exclusive early access to the slopes before they open to the wider public.

For families, the Kids Club features four dedicated spaces including an arcade room, cinema room, drawing room and a children-only live cooking restaurant. Young guests can also meet the property’s Malamutes and visit a dedicated Kids’ Igloo complete with a chocolate fountain. Starting rates at Rosewood Courchevel begin at €2,900 per night, inclusive of breakfast.
