Janu has revealed the residential side of its first project in Ras Al Khaimah, where Janu Al Marjan Island will bring a 132-key hotel and a collection of just 73 branded residences to the shores of Al Marjan Island. Located 70 kilometres from Dubai, the development sits directly beside Wynn Al Marjan Island, the first integrated resort in the region.
Part of Aman Group, Janu takes its name from the Sanskrit word for soul and was introduced in 2020 as a companion to Aman, which has grown from the opening of Amanpuri in Phuket in 1988 into a collection of 36 hotels, resorts and branded residences across 21 destinations. Where Aman built its reputation on intimate retreats, Janu is centred on connection, wellbeing and shared experiences, and on Al Marjan Island that philosophy moves to the coast, with residences planned to give owners genuine privacy while keeping them close to the life of the hotel.
Inside the residences at Janu Al Marjan Island
The residences range from one-bedroom homes of 197 square metres to a five-bedroom penthouse of 1,761 square metres at the very top of the tower. Alongside them, five secluded Marina Villas are positioned along the island’s eastern shoreline, where they look out towards the sunrise over the Arabian Gulf.
Throughout the collection, floor-to-ceiling windows take in the open sea and the Ras Al Khaimah coastline and lead out onto expansive terraces and private pools, while double-height living spaces in selected residences draw the interiors and the landscape beyond closer together.
Beach, marina and spa access for residents
Owners at Janu Al Marjan Island arrive through a private entrance with its own lobby, and have a lounge and fitness centre reserved for residents alone. That privacy is balanced by the sociable character at the heart of the brand, with residents also sharing in everything the hotel has to offer.
Residents have direct access to a 265-metre private beach and exclusive mooring at Wynn Marina, the island’s superyacht marina, which welcomes yachts of up to 85 metres. They can also use the hotel’s 2,496-square-metre Janu Spa and Wellness Centre, alongside a fitness centre, cryotherapy facilities, a padel court and a 30-metre swimming pool, while six dining and entertainment venues include Hu Jing, Janu’s signature Chinese restaurant, and a beach club.
Janu’s growing footprint in the UAE
Construction of Janu Al Marjan Island got under way in July 2026, when ground was broken on the site. The project is a joint development between Marjan, the Ras Al Khaimah company behind Al Marjan Island itself, and Wynn Resorts, whose neighbouring resort will be its first on the oceanfront when it opens in 2027. Together, the two partners are working to make Ras Al Khaimah one of the region’s foremost addresses for luxury hotels, homes and leisure.
The launch of Janu Al Marjan Island follows the arrival of Janu Residences Dubai earlier this year, the brand’s first residential offering in the UAE, and comes as Janu Tokyo, the brand’s debut hotel, continues to gather recognition, with two Michelin Keys awarded since it opened in March 2024. Further Janu destinations are planned for Turks and Caicos, Montenegro and Saudi Arabia.
