Isabel Mayfair, a fixture on London’s Albemarle Street since 2017, has opened its first permanent international home. Known in London for Mediterranean-influenced food and a late-night bar programme, Isabel Mayfair Abu Dhabi welcomed its first guests on 20 April at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, bringing the concept to the capital of the UAE. A selection of London’s signature dishes have been reinterpreted for the new location, while other dishes have been created specifically for Abu Dhabi, tailored to suit the local palate.
A Mediterranean menu by chef Vincent Visinet
The menu at Isabel Mayfair Abu Dhabi is led by French chef Vincent Visinet, whose approach balances simplicity with precision and draws influence from across the Mediterranean. Smaller plates include croquetas filled with onion and leek béchamel, brightened with lemon paste and pickles, while starters feature a vegetable tartlet layered with cooked, raw and pickled produce, and an heirloom tomato salad elevated with a verbena-infused consommé.
Mains continue the Mediterranean thread with dishes such as carabineros paired with a reduced head jus, kaffir lime and a potato roll with nori, alongside a beef fillet wellington wrapped in puff pastry with mushroom duxelles and veal jus. To finish, desserts include a red berry pavlova with confit and sorbet, and a large pistachio madeleine designed for sharing, served warm with pistachio diplomat cream. An elevated bar programme runs alongside the food offering, built to carry guests from daytime service into the evening.
Interiors reflect soft glamour
Interiors feature polished brass, Calacatta Viola marble, dark polished oak and deep midnight blue velvets running through the space. Hand-embroidered silk wall coverings give the dining area a couture-inspired feel, while curved banquette seating softens the room. Selected recognisable touches from the London restaurant have been threaded through the Isabel Mayfair Abu Dhabi space, while the overall look has been reimagined for the new location. The format is designed to move through the day, shifting in tempo and atmosphere from lunch into dinner and on to late-night service.
