Chalet Alpina Aspen is a new resort and residential development at the base of Aspen Mountain, positioned beside the historic Lift One. The project is led by Irongate Group, known for creating lifestyle-driven destinations, in partnership with Aspen-based HayMax. Together, they aim to combine high-level hospitality, private residences, and members’ spaces with direct ski-in/ski-out access.
The site will feature two newly built structures housing the resort, residences, and club, alongside two restored historic chalet buildings. One will reopen as a restaurant and the other as the Aspen Ski Museum. This approach combines elements of Aspen’s past with modern design and amenities, creating a destination that serves both visitors and the local community.
Design that reflects Aspen’s natural setting

The interiors of Chalet Alpina Aspen are designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. The London-based firm has worked on international projects including Annabel’s in London and Soho Beach House in Miami.
“The inspiration behind the design of Chalet Alpina takes cues from Aspen’s history, blending the classic ski destination aesthetic with thoughtful details that bring a sense of luxury, comfort, fun and tradition,” said Martin Brudnizki. “From the resort to the residences and club spaces, the design weaves together Aspen’s enduring legacy with rich, modern layers that offer something truly unique to the charming mountain village.”
Brudnizki describes the spaces as flowing naturally into one another, with soft forms and tones drawn from the surrounding landscape. The aim is to create interiors that feel both welcoming and transportive.
A development rooted in community and access
Architecture by Guerin Glass Architects complements the setting with a design that balances the scale of the project against the mountain backdrop. Public spaces will improve pedestrian access through the Lift One corridor, linking the resort with Aspen’s downtown core.
The residential offering includes six mountain homes with private amenities and 26 resort residences ranging from two to four bedrooms. Facilities such as a spa, rooftop pool, fitness centre, private ski shop, and dedicated dining venues are planned to support both owners and resort guests.
Chalet Alpina Aspen is expected to open for sales this winter. Positioned at a key point in Aspen’s history, the development combines restored heritage, modern architecture, and international design expertise in one location.
