One&Only Moonlight Basin has officially opened in Big Sky, Montana, marking the brand’s first property in the United States and its first alpine resort. Spanning 240 acres within the 8,000-acre Moonlight Basin community, the retreat brings One&Only’s hallmark luxury service to the heart of America’s wilderness.
The project preserves more than 60 per cent of the land as open space, ensuring the setting remains true to its natural character. Set between Lone Peak and the Spanish Peaks, the resort combines striking mountain scenery with elevated hospitality, redefining luxury escapes in the American West.

Designed by Olson Kundig, the resort blends contemporary mountain architecture with natural materials and expansive windows that frame Montana’s soaring vistas. Three main lodges host 73 rooms and suites, while 19 cabins provide a more private alpine experience.
For extended stays, 62 private homes and eight estate lots are available for purchase. These four-, five-, and six-bedroom residences offer multiple levels of living space, outdoor terraces and direct access to Big Sky’s adventure-filled surroundings.
