Six Senses Kyoto debuts in Japan

Enjoy wellness, sustainability, and unique experiences

Six Senses Kyoto is now open, bringing the brand’s signature charm to Japan for the first time. Set in the heart of Kyoto’s historic sites, guests can enjoy wellness, sustainability, and unforgettable experiences during their stay.

As you step into the lobby, you’ll be greeted by a beautiful folding screen featuring 504 handcrafted Kyoto-made Rakuyaki tiles symbolising Mount Kurama, a sacred site in Japanese folklore. Opposite this is a whimsical nod to “Chōjū-giga” (Scrolls of Frolicking Animals), believed to be Japan’s first manga. Natural wood and meandering paths through Japanese gardens further connect you to nature.

With 81 guest rooms and suites, Six Senses Kyoto offers tranquil havens designed for contemplation and rejuvenation. From the intimate Premier Suite Garden featuring a secluded Japanese courtyard to the expansive Three-Bedroom Penthouse Suite, each space is meticulously curated to enhance restful sleep through the Sleep With Six Senses programme. Expect bespoke organic mattresses, temperature-regulating pillows, and soothing sleep aids to help you drift into a restful night.

Six Senses Spa integrates traditional healing with modern science to help you unwind. Try the Kyoto-exclusive Ah-un treatment for inner peace, or relax with Watsu (aquatic bodywork) in Kyoto’s only dedicated pool for this therapy. The Biohack Recovery Lounge offers state-of-the-art recovery devices, while integrated wellness programs like Sleep, Detox, Yoga, and Fitness provide personalised care.

At Sekki, the hotel’s all-day dining venue, guests can savour Japan’s rich culinary heritage with hyper-seasonal menus crafted by Executive Chef Hiroki Shishikura, who maintains close ties with local farmers. Café Sekki offers an array of freshly brewed beverages, artisan teas, and guilt-free treats, while Nine Tails bar serves up inventive cocktails and alcohol-free alternatives.

To celebrate the brand’s debut and its first urban hotel in Japan, Six Senses Kyoto is offering a limited-time “Now in Kyoto” opening offer to help guests find their inner sanctuary. Enjoy special savings on accommodation, including complimentary breakfast and hotel credits applicable to dining and signature spa treatments. Rates start from USD $1,002 per room per night.
