Shangri-La Eros New Delhi brings fashion to the poolside this summer

India's first fashion and lifestyle-led poolside takeover arrives at the hotel's Wellness Club

Shangri-La Eros New Delhi has unveiled the Palmera Pool Pop-Up, a three-month summer installation created in partnership with Indian luxury resort wear brand Shivan & Narresh. Running daily from 7am to 8pm at the hotel’s Wellness Club, the pop-up transforms the pool deck into an immersive environment built around the brand’s signature Palmera print from its Araki Series 2018.

The Palmera print draws on Japanese photo-art, influenced by the works of photographer Nobuyoshi Araki, and was conceived following the designers’ trip to Japan in autumn 2017. It combines botanical motifs with the image of a panther set against a Sakura pink ground. At Shangri-La Eros New Delhi, the design extends across sun bed covers, poolside rugs and cushions, decorative trays, sculptural Branchia candle stands, and the lifeguard chair, which has been wrapped front and back in the full Palmera motif.

For Shivan & Narresh, the Palmera Pool Pop-Up marks an extension of the brand beyond clothing and into spatial design, under the label Shivan & Narresh Homes. The pool deck at Shangri-La Eros New Delhi has been dressed in the brand’s visual language across every touchpoint, from staff uniforms featuring dedicated Shivan & Narresh aprons to the service trays used throughout the installation. The result is a poolside environment designed to feel consistent from end to end.

Designers Shivan Bhatiya and Narresh Kukreja described the concept as dissolving “the boundaries between fashion, design and experience,” with every element, from the print to the service, intended to draw guests into what they call “a world of indulgence, escapism and unapologetic boldness.”

The Wellness Club setting

The pop-up takes place within Shangri-La Eros New Delhi’s 27,000 sq ft Wellness Club, a facility that includes over 4,000 sq ft of fitness space, a 100-foot outdoor lap pool, spa, salon, retail boutique, and a hydrothermal zone with a cold plunge, Himalayan salt sauna, whirlpool and steam rooms. The Palmera installation sits within this wider wellness offering, available to hotel guests and Wellness Club members throughout the summer season.

The collaboration forms part of Shangri-La Eros New Delhi’s ongoing Explorer’s Edit, a seasonal wellness series that brings together designer collaborations, wellness programming, and experiential activations at the hotel. General Manager Abhishek Sadhoo described the initiative as bringing together “luxury, lifestyle, and design,” adding that the poolside installation complements the aesthetic of the newly launched poolside area at the Wellness Club.

A first for India

The Palmera Pool Pop-Up is billed as India’s first fashion and lifestyle-led poolside takeover.
