Amangati now has a confirmed date for its maiden voyage. Aman at Sea has announced the successful float out of Amangati, its inaugural ocean-going yacht, at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, and the vessel is scheduled to depart Palma de Mallorca on 7 May 2027 on a six-night voyage bound for Nice. The ceremony, staged in keeping with centuries of Italian shipbuilding tradition, marks the completion of the exterior build and the transition of Amangati from dry dock to sea.
Amangati takes its name from the Sanskrit for ‘peaceful motion’, and Aman at Sea presents the vessel as an extension of the qualities that have shaped the brand since its founding in 1988, namely privacy, peace, enduring design and service. Aman began with Amanpuri in Phuket and has since grown to encompass 36 hotels, resorts and branded residences across 21 destinations, with further properties under construction, though the yacht represents its first move beyond land in more than three decades.
That move follows a wider pattern of extension beyond the properties themselves, which has already taken in Aman Skincare, the Sva supplement range, a fine fragrance collection, ready-to-wear under The Essentials by Aman and a furniture line through Aman Interiors. Aman at Sea itself operates as a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi.
Amangati opens its inaugural Mediterranean season
Amangati will open its inaugural Mediterranean season with itineraries of between five and eight nights, crossing the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Ionian and Aegean seas. Aman at Sea describes the programme as designed for deeper immersion, achieved through longer stays, late departures and a limited number of days at sea, with routes taking in coastlines, intimate harbours, historic ports and remote anchorages that lie beyond the reach of larger vessels.
Selected voyages have been timed to coincide with cultural moments in the calendar, among them the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix, for which guests will be granted exclusive access.
What the float out signals for the build
A float out ranks among the most significant milestones in the construction of an ocean-going vessel, confirming that the hull is complete, sealed, painted and watertight. Amangati now moves to the outfitting quay in Genoa, where the interiors will be finished over the coming months, taking in the 47 suites, the Aman Spa, the four signature restaurants, the Selora lounge and the Marina. Sea trials, delivery and final preparation for guests follow from there.
The yacht measures 180 metres across nine decks, is registered at 23,000 gross tonnes and sails under the Maltese flag. Interiors draw on natural materials including eucalyptus and sen woods, travertine and hand-carved glasswork, an approach Aman positions as its pared-back aesthetic reimagined at sea.
47 suites, 94 guests and a crew of 207
Amangati will carry a maximum of 94 guests across 47 ocean-facing suites, each with a private terrace and full-height windows opening onto uninterrupted sea views. A crew of 207 gives a ratio of 2.2 crew members to every guest, and every suite is assigned a dedicated Suite Host, an on-demand concierge available throughout the voyage.
That relationship between scale and guest count sits at the centre of how Aman at Sea has framed the project, with the brand presenting Amangati as a sanctuary defined by space and seclusion rather than by capacity.
Dining, wellness and sea access aboard Amangati
Four signature restaurants are planned, comprising Alira for Mediterranean cooking, Akari for Japanese, Hiori for teppanyaki and the Aman Grill. Social spaces extend across The Jazz Club, the Cigar Lounge, the Alira Pool Bar, The Bar at Aman Grill, Selora and a cinema.
Wellness occupies 740 square metres in a facility Aman describes as the largest spa in luxury yachting. Eight ocean-facing treatment rooms each come with a private terrace and whirlpool, alongside a hammam, banya, fitness studio, yoga and meditation deck, beauty lounge and Medi Spa.
Sea access is handled through the Marina on Deck 3, which extends two floating platforms and a curated fleet of water toys, with the Selora waterfront lounge adjacent. Four limousine tenders and two open sport tenders complete the fleet, while two helipads sit forward on Deck 6 and aft on Deck 9.
Reservations open across two debut seasons
Reservations are open for the maiden Mediterranean season and for a newly added programme of Caribbean voyages in autumn 2027, giving Amangati two distinct seasons within its first year of operation. Pricing was not published alongside the float out announcement.
With the hull now complete and the vessel afloat, attention turns to the interiors, the sea trials and the delivery that must all be signed off before the first guests board next May, leaving a little under a year to finish a yacht that Aman at Sea frames as a sanctuary of serenity and space in which each voyage is intended to restore balance and prompt discovery.
